Great interest for Hofseth Aquaculture visitor centre

Atlanterhavsparken's visitor center continues to attract visitors eager to deepen their understanding of the aquaculture industry. Last year, the center welcomed a total of 192,000 visitors.

Hofseth's Aquaculture Visitor Center, opened in 2022 in Ålesund, Norway, and offers a comprehensive look into the production of Norwegian salmon and rainbow trout. Visitors can engage in a variety of activities and tasks, exploring topics such as local history, the biology of these fish, environmental considerations, sustainability, and technology.

School classes from across the region are increasingly visiting the center for immersive learning experiences. The educational programs cover sustainable practices and the lifecycle of marine species, providing students with valuable insights.

Heidi Bostad Roaldsand, the Director of Atlanterhavsparken, notes the centre's popularity.

"We've seen a remarkable increase in school visits and have received positive feedback," she said.
